Job Summary

What you will do:

  • Evaluate PLC and control systems for accuracy and improvement opportunities.

  • Analyze data outputs from control systems and drive data-based decision making.

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes through investigations of issues; applying knowledge of product design fabrication assembly tooling and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.

  • Facilitate waste reduction and efficiency improvements using QCO EP Standard Work and PPS techniques.

  • Supports operations through facilitation of Continual Improvement projects sustaining improving and streamlining overall processes within the organization.

  • Oversee the upkeep of industry 4.0 systems standards and documents.

  • Utilizes root cause analysis system that focuses on team problem solving to resolve issues identified in design or manufacturing and supports execution of corrective actions.

  • Support department management in identification of key success drivers and execution of improvement objectives.

  • Assists in the training of SMEs in the facility.

What you will bring:

  • Knowledge and thorough understanding of sensors PLC and control systems required.

  • CAD and modelling experience an asset.

  • Data analysis skills such as advanced excel power bi and SQL are considered an asset.

  • Problem solving skills and attention to detail.

  • High degree of initiative and motivation and willingness to work proactively either independently or within a team

  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal. Experience gathering and accurately recording test data. Working knowledge of MS Word & MS Excel.

  • Registered in an engineering co-op program at an Ontario accredited university or college
