LOCATION: Can be based in Cardiff Belfast Glasgow Salford or London with some hybrid working. If based outside of London there will be regular travel to London.
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 90000 - 110000pa depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

The Head of Leadership Communications is a vital role in the internal communications and engagement (IC&E) team. The role is responsible for delivering our programme of leadership communications to equip and engage leaders across the BBC.
Reporting to the Director of IC&E this role is responsible for making sure our leadership communications and engagement is of the highest quality and that it supports our leaders and managers to perform at their very best to deliver against our priorities. This role has a unique position right at the heart of the BBC and will have a direct relationship with the Director-General and BBC Chair to help shape and execute their comms and visibility programmes across the organisation.
In addition the role is also responsible for leading coaching and mentoring a small but high-performing team to deliver: world-class leadership communications; a suite of core leadership channels and leadership editorial and publishing plan; write and execute group wide announcements on behalf of the Director-General and members of the Executive team as required and build outstanding partnerships with key stakeholders in HR (e.g. People & Organisational Development People Experience) the Director-Generals office and Chief Operating Officer in particular.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
Develop and deliver the BBCs leadership communications strategy
Oversee our suite of leadership communications channels
Measure effectiveness of comms against key outcomes
Utilise data and insight to equip and engage BBC leaders
Business Partner the Director-General and Chair and deliver DG and Chair communication
Manage and develop a high performing team
Deputise for the Director of Internal Communications & Engagement as needed
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Proven experience of delivering high impact leadership communications and engagement
Proven experience of supporting leaders to drive change and transformation
First class written and verbal communication skills
Proven experience of developing a high performing team including outstanding planning skills and the ability to oversee multiple high profile projects simultaneously.
A first class creative approach positive energy and a can-do attitude
