Responsibilities
- Manages project performance schedule and resources.
- Ensures the project is constructed as per design budget quality and schedule.
- Understands client drivers and offers value engineering proposals for functionality cost and/or schedule benefit while maintaining value-added outcomes as part of our solution provider service where warranted.
- Participates in the review of design documentation and seeks resolution from the design team with respect to compliance scope creep cost optimization code requirements procurement safety in design construction sequencing and constructability.
- Develops the Project Execution Plan (PEP) with the superintendent.
- Develops and implements the project safety plan leading by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
- Chairs project meetings and ensures minutes are properly prepared/reviewed and promptly issued.
- Develops and implements a quality management plan and Quality Control (QC).
- Chairs HSE meetings and manages team safety inspections to ensure policies procedures and standards are followed.
- Participates in estimates and works with trade contractors to secure new work.
Qualifications
- Lead museum and cultural exhibit fabrication and construction projects across all phases including design pre-construction fabrication installation and closeout.
- Manage large-scale exhibit projects with budgets of $5M or more ensuring delivery on time within scope and on budget.
- Oversee conservation-grade casework and the integration of artifacts fossils and replicas as well as millwork scenic and specialty fabrication graphics media production and lighting.
- Direct and coordinate technology disciplines including audio visual systems lighting controls and interactive exhibits encompassing system production installation and programming.
- Manage interfaces with General Contractor scopes and ensure alignment between exhibit fabrication and broader construction activities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for museum and cultural institution clients designers architects engineers and external stakeholders including boards community groups government entities and National Parks.
- Provide strong project leadership through clear communication collaboration and relationship management with internal and external partners.
- Lead project reporting budgeting contract administration and financial tracking including schedule development and management using tools such as Primavera P6 (preferred).
- Oversee procurement activities including vendor sourcing scope development contracting and management of multiple subcontractors.
- Proactively identify manage and mitigate project risks while maintaining momentum under high-pressure schedules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to creatively solve complex technical and logistical challenges.
- Support on-site project execution and travel as required including extended assignments outside of California.
- Professional project management credentials architectural or engineering expertise or equivalent exhibit fabrication and construction experience to ensure best-in-class project delivery.
- Knowledge and application of health safety and environment principles/procedures/legislation.

The salary range for this role is $116000 - $150810 dependent on experience.
