Lead hands-on change across VMIAs most important innovation and transformation initiatives. This is a visible delivery-focused leadership role for an experienced Change Manager who thrives in dynamic environments partners closely with the business and leads a small team to deliver innovation and strategic outcomes.

Salary Range $167754 - $186393 (total remuneration package inclusive of super).
Location & flexibility Centrally located Melbourne CBD office near Flinders Street with a hybrid work model and an expectation of around three days in the office each week.
About the role
As Change Manager within VMIAs Innovation and Projects Office (IPO) you will lead hands-on change management across a dynamic portfolio of innovation and strategic projects that directly support VMIAs strategy.
You will work across multiple initiatives leading the practical application of change through delivery and embedment in a fast-moving environment that values adaptability curiosity and collaborative relationships. Leading and coaching a small team of Change Analysts you will remain personally accountable for change outcomes while partnering closely with IPO leadership project managers innovation team and senior stakeholders to build confidence in change and deliver practical high-impact results.
Key responsibilities
Lead hands-on change management across a portfolio of innovation and strategic projects from early delivery through to embedment and adoption.
Apply established change approaches in practical ways to support delivery readiness and sustained outcomes.
Lead coach and support a small team of Change Analysts building capability consistency and confidence in delivery.
Partner closely with project managers and innovation team to understand impacts risks and stakeholder needs.
Provide trusted advice and challenge to leaders and project teams to strengthen change leadership and decision-making.
Maintain a portfolio view of change impacts and progress supporting effective reporting and governance.
What we are looking for
Proven experience delivering hands-on change management across complex fast-moving project environments.
Demonstrated people leadership capability with experience coaching and leading a small team while remaining actively involved in delivery.
Exceptional interpersonal influencing and stakeholder management skills with a strong focus on building trusted relationships.
A growth mindset with curiosity adaptability and comfort working across evolving priorities.
Strong outcomes focus attention to detail and the ability to balance pace with quality.
Experience working within innovation-led or evolving environments where pragmatism and delivery matter.
Relevant change management qualifications or demonstrated equivalent experience applying change methodologies in practice.

Salary Information
At VMIA we offer competitive salaries based on the roles classification and your skills and experience. Typically new employees start at the minimum of the salary range however consideration may be given to starting above the minimum of the band should you demonstrate extensive experience in a similar role or possess unique and desirable skills and capabilities required to perform the role.
