Job Summary

About the role

As a qualified Contact Lens Optician you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in store across our clinics and the wider store to support the day to day operations reporting to the Store Manager/Hub Manager.

Responsibilities include

Using your passion for delivering patient care youll work with colleagues to deliver a positive customer journey.
Building longstanding relationships not only with colleagues and customers but with healthcare professionals in the local community and explore the opportunities for delivering enhanced services
Using your up to date knowledge of Contact Lens technology and spectacle dispensing to train and develop the wider optical team.
Validating complex prescriptions and vulnerable groups and providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.
Opportunity to supervise a Student Contact Lens Optician/Student Dispensing Optician

Need To Know
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Optometrist to join our supportive and experienced team in Preston. This role has the potential for residency or mobile working across Blackpool Burnley Chorley Cleveleys Preston and Southport. Hours: 30-37.50 hours per week 4-5 days.

This role offers flexible working patterns with a minimum requirement of 3 out of 4 Saturdays or alternate full weekends.

We welcome Newly Qualified Optometrists with no additional qualifications required making this an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a well-equipped high-performing practice.

Youll be working in a busy Boots UK store with Hearing Care featuring 4 testing rooms 2025 minute testing times and a wide range of services including Dry Eye. The practice is fully equipped with modern technology including OCT visual fields retinal cameras and phoropters.

The team is friendly experienced and supportive with 15 colleagues including resident Optometrists a Pre-Reg Optometrist Dispensing Optician and Contact Lens Optician.

The practice is located in the heart of Preston with excellent transport links nearby trains and buses and affordable parking (2 for the day within a 5-minute walk). The patient base is varied from young children through to the elderly.
