Position Overview
We are hiring experienced CDL-A local truck drivers for an intermodal position based in the Mechanicville / Albany NY area. Drivers will haul containers to and from rail yards and customer locations within a 250-mile radius of Mechanicville NY.
This position offers daily home time consistent local work activity-based pay and no-touch freight.
No NYC routes.
Pay & Compensation
- Mileage pay: $0.50$0.56 CPM (based on experience)
- Average weekly miles: 1800
- Estimated annual earnings: $80000$100000 (W-2; not guaranteed)
Additional Activity Pay Includes:
- Drop & hook: $40 per event
- Live load / unload: $65 per event
- Hazmat load: $20 per load
- Detention pay after 1 hour
- Breakdown and delay pay (activity-based)
- New hire training pay: $200 per day
- Holiday pay: $210 per day
Home Time & Schedule
- Daily home time
- Schedule options:ThursdayMonday or FridayTuesday
- Approximate start times: 12:01 AM or 3:00 AM
- Typical shifts run approximately 12 hours
- Drivers must be willing to work either schedule/start time
Equipment & Freight
- Day cab tractors
- 53 box trailers / intermodal containers
- Slip-seat operation
- No-touch freight
- Truck remains at the ramp during time off
Operating Area
- Local intermodal runs within a 250-mile radius of Mechanicville NY
- No NYC driving
Driver Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 3 months verifiable driving experience
- Must meet DOT physical and safety requirements
- Hazmat endorsement required within 90 days of hire
- Company reimburses hazmat endorsement costs with proof of completion and receipts
- Ability to work overnight and rotating schedules
Training & Orientation
- Paid training required
- Training pay: $200 per day
