Radiology (X-Ray) Technologist
Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an exciting Potential Opportunity for a skilled and dependable Radiology (X-Ray) Technologist to support a VA Medical Center in Portland OR and/or Vancouver WA. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced hospital imaging environment while providing essential diagnostic services to our nations Veterans.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
ARRT certification as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (Radiography/X-Ray)
Current BCLS certification
Minimum 2 years of experience operating diagnostic radiology equipment under a Radiologist or medical officer
Recent hospital experience: Must have worked as an X-Ray Technologist in a hospital setting within the past 6 months
Current professional liability insurance
Key Responsibilities
Prepare patients for radiologic examinations and explain procedures clearly
Operate diagnostic radiology equipment to produce high-quality images used for medical diagnosis and treatment
Position patients and select appropriate technical factors for each exam
Perform routine and complex examinations including chest joints extremities GI studies IVPs cholangiography and barium studies
Review images for clarity and accuracy; repeat studies when necessary
Maintain accurate patient records imaging data and documentation in DHCP
Perform portable X-ray exams throughout the medical center while ensuring radiation safety
Adhere to all radiation safety infection control and patient handling protocols
Maintain exam room cleanliness and restock supplies as needed
Identify and report equipment issues safety concerns or unusual events
Provide courteous professional customer service to Veterans visitors and staff
Participate in on-call and after-hours imaging services as scheduled
Follow VA Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging Service policies across all imaging modalities
