SUMMARY:
Serve as the primary technical interface between the customer and PCC Structurals Aluminum Operations. Product Engineers support major aerospace customers including GE Honeywell RollsRoyce and others. This role manages daily technical issues understands product end use and material constraints defines internal manufacturing requirements and resolves customer concerns when products do not meet expectations. Strong project management capability and regular customer-facing interaction are essential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the startup of multiple new parts from blueprint receipt through first article delivery.
- Lead project timelines milestones and communication for new part introduction (NPI).
- Manage the incorporation of customer engineering changes and revisions.
- Write clear detailed instructions for the production of new parts.
- Track sample castings; identify recommend and execute corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Modify instructions and/or write tool orders to correct and improve parts.
- Address daily technical issues to ensure consistent and reliable production output.
- Define and approve process items necessary to meet material and enduse property requirements.
- Provide regular updates to customers and the Sales team regarding part status.
- Maintain active technical relationships with customers through meetings reviews and ongoing discussions.
- Perform technical evaluations and investigatory work to resolve customer concerns; document findings.
- Collaborate with a senior product engineer to establish gating investing casting and heattreat instructions for new aluminum castings.
- Partner crossfunctionally with Operations Quality and other departments to provide needed technical support.
- Actively participate in Sample New Part Introduction and design review meetings.
- Demonstrate strong customerfacing communication skills and proven ability to manage engineering projects simultaneously.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with all safety requirements policies and procedures while maintaining a clean organized workspace.
- Participate in required safety trainings health assessments and monitoring programs.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated facility areas.
- Perform all physical duties of the role including standing stooping bending sitting walking twisting kneeling turning and lifting up to 35 lbs.
- Meet established attendance standards.
- Work overtime as required.
- Report any work-related injury or illness immediately to your supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering required preferably Mechanical Aerospace Manufacturing Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science.
- Product Engineer I: Entry level 0 to 2 years of experience.
- Product Engineer II: 35 years of experience; investment casting experience preferred.
- Strong technical aptitude and analytical ability.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and engineering drawing interpretation.
- Basic understanding of cast products and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues and address customer concerns.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be comfortable interfacing directly with customers.
- Proven project management skills including planning tracking and crossfunctional coordination.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this role the employee is frequently required to stand walk twist turn talk and hear. The employee may occasionally sit kneel stoop bend and use hands to handle or feel. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
