Salary Range:$ 66000 - $75000 per academic year. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.

This position isExempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary

This teaching assistant professor position will teach undergraduate courses possibly including cross-listed courses in the Department of Computer Science as assigned by the department chair. The typical course load for an instructor is 24 credit hours (80% time) per academic year and service activity (20% time). An individual hired for this position will teach courses necessary for multiple Computer Science
(CS) and related degrees and specializations.

Essential Functions

The duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Teaching undergraduate and possibly cross-listed courses in cybersecurity and computer science

  • Developing new courses in cybersecurity and computer science

  • Advising undergraduate majors

  • Participating in College and Departmental committees and meetings

  • Other activities as assigned by the Chair of the Computer Science Department

Additional activities may include:

  • Guiding undergraduate students in independent studies

  • Developing and teaching online courses

Tentative Search Timeline

  • Priority will be given to applications submitted by:February 22 2026.
  • Potential interview dates: weeks of March 30 2026 and April 6 2026.
  • Potential start date: August 17 2026.

  • A MS in Computer Science OR a related degree is required at the time of appointment.

  • Experience teaching at least one course as a teaching assistant instructor of record or the equivalent is required.

  • An earned Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field or relevant industry experience is preferred.

  • Experience teaching one or more relevant CS courses at the post-secondary level is preferred.
