DIRECTV is seeking a AVP Enterprise Solution Architecture. This influential technology leader is responsible for directing the overall IT Architecture organization and defining the strategic technology vision across all business domains. This executive role shapes the enterprises technology future state leading the evaluation of strategic business needs and orchestrating the implementation of enterprise-wide solutions. The AVP serves as a key partner to executive leadership translating business strategy into architectural roadmaps while managing teams budgets and critical technology decisions that have major impact on organizational success.
Heres what youll do:
Strategic Architecture Leadership
- Direct and oversee the overall IT Architecture organization setting vision priorities and strategic direction.
- Develop and articulate the ideal future target state architecture for all business domains across the enterprise which aligns with the business strategy for each domain and the trends in the industry as well.
- Incorporate strategic insight to address highly complex high-impact business and technology challenges.
- Shape the organizations technology direction outcomes and long-term architectural strategy.
- Partner with executive team members to align technology strategies with overall organizational goals and business objectives.
Enterprise Solution Design and Implementation
- Lead evaluation of strategic business needs across the enterprise and translate them into architectural solutions.
- Oversee successful implementation of enterprise-wide technology solutions and initiatives.
- Develop and communicate enterprise-wide architectural vision to stakeholders at all levels.
- Ensure architectural decisions support scalability security integration and business agility.
- Drive standardization and consistency in technology approaches across business domains.
Technology Assessment and Innovation
- Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential fit within the organizational ecosystem.
- Conduct comprehensive technical assessments and estimations for strategic initiatives.
- Lead technology selection processes for major enterprise investments.
- Identify opportunities to leverage new technologies for competitive advantage.
- Balance innovation with risk management and operational stability.
Stakeholder Engagement and Influence
- Work closely with C-suite executives and senior stakeholders to understand business priorities and constraints.
- Influence technology decisions at the highest levels of the organization.
- Communicate complex architectural concepts and recommendations to non-technical executives.
- Build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups for architectural direction and major initiatives.
- Serve as trusted advisor on technology strategy and enterprise architecture matters.
Organizational Leadership and Development
- Direct and control activities across multiple architecture teams and functional areas.
- Supervise mentor and develop subordinate teams and architecture leaders.
- Conduct joint goal setting performance reviews and career development planning for direct reports.
- Influence and make decisions regarding hiring firing disciplinary action and promotional activities.
- Build organizational capability and develop next-generation architecture talent.
Financial and Resource Management
- Manage financial budgets for the architecture organization with full P&L responsibility.
- Allocate resources effectively across multiple teams and strategic initiatives.
- Develop business cases and ROI analyses for major technology investments.
- Optimize spending while ensuring architectural excellence and strategic alignment.
- Forecast budget needs and manage vendor relationships for architectural tools and services.
Policy Development and Governance
- Develop corporate and organizational policies related to IT architecture and authorize their implementation.
- Establish architectural standards principles and governance frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with architectural policies across the enterprise.
- Create and maintain architectural review processes and decision-making frameworks.
- Drive architectural governance that balances control with business agility.
What youll need to be successful:
Experience
- 10-15 years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture solution architecture or technology leadership roles.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale organizational initiatives with enterprise-wide impact.
- Extensive experience developing and implementing enterprise architecture strategies.
- Demonstrated success in executive-level stakeholder management and influence.
Leadership and Management
- Extensive leadership experience directing multiple teams and functional areas.

DIRECTVs compensation structure is designed to be market-competitive and fully supports efforts to attract and retain employees. It is the companys policy to offer pay that is competitive with other employers in the local market. Our salary ranges are determined by role level and location.
The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTVs 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills experience and relevant education or training.
