Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and nurturing Afternoon Resource Teacher to support our classrooms during the second half of the day. This role is essential in maintaining ratio providing classroom coverage assisting teachers and ensuring a smooth safe and engaging afternoon for our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Support lead and assistant teachers across classrooms as needed
- Step into classrooms to maintain proper teacher-to-child ratios
- Assist with afternoon activities transitions rest time and dismissal
- Provide coverage for staff breaks and absences
- Help maintain a clean safe and organized classroom environment
- Engage positively with children and support their social and emotional needs
- Follow all school policies licensing requirements and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Experience working with children preferred (childcare preschool or school setting)
- Must be patient reliable and flexible
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Strong communication and time-management skills
- Must meet state childcare requirements (background screening training etc.)
