Position overview:
SBMA is seeking a General Counsel of Client Solutions to join its growing team. This role serves as a strategic legal leader and trusted business advisor providing practical riskaligned legal guidance related to insurance and benefits administration client contracts and regulatory compliance. The General Counsel of Client Solutions partners closely with executive leadership to support growth initiatives ensure regulatory compliance and develop scalable legal frameworks aligned with operational needs.
Key responsibilities and duties:

Support sales and client solutions teams by providing timely practical legal guidance that enables deal execution while managing risk.
Advise on federal and state insurance laws and regulations applicable to TPAs including ERISA ACA HIPAA COBRA and state TPA licensing requirements.
Interpret regulatory changes and assess impact on client contracts service models and product offerings.
Identify legal and operational risks associated with client solutions benefit administration and data handling.
Act as a trusted advisor balancing legal requirements with business strategy.
Support executive leadership with governance matters impacting client solutions.
Required Qualifications:
J.D. and active bar membership.
8 years of relevant legal experience in health benefits self-funded plans or TPAs.
Strong knowledge of ERISA ACA HIPAA and multi-state TPA compliance.
Experience negotiating complex contracts.

Pay Details:
The base compensation range for this position is $0 - $0. This range reflects Acrisures good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to skills experience qualifications location and internal equity.Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration team leadership and cross-functional partnership.
