At a Glance!Lower Columbia College is looking for a motivated individual that is customer-service oriented and enjoys working with numbers to join our small but mighty Finance Team! The Finance Team manages all financial operations for the College. The Accounts Receivable Analyst is the key person for administering accounts receivables and providing excellent customer service to our diverse community of faculty staff and students here at LCC.

This position works collaboratively with departments across campus to ensure effective and smooth processing of accounts receivables. The Accounts Receivable Analyst processes miscellaneous charges administers student and military accounts verifies billings processes delinquent accounts and more. The classification for the Accounts Receivable Analyst is Fiscal Analyst 1 under Washington State Classification Specifications.

This position is 40 hour a week and the typical schedule is Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm. The Accounts Receivable Analyst reports directly to the Student Financials Manager.

Successful candidates typically start towards the beginning of the salary range and will receive scheduled salary increases.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities

Focus areas for the Accounts Receivable Analyst include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare maintain and collect billings for students staff college departments outside agencies including governmental agencies and third-party contracts and ensure payments are applied correctly.
  • Prepare reconcile and analyze accounts receivable entries.
  • Document support for AR Journals reconcile support to journal and attach to posted journals.
  • Troubleshoot student account issues.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports for Accounting Manager and Student Financials Manager.
  • Respond to customer inquiries with exceptional customer service.
  • Process past due student accounts review automated reporting for errors and corrects discrepancies as needed.
  • Manage collection accounts and serve as main contact and liaison for collection agencies and debtors.
  • Prepare monitor and reconcile repayment agreements.
  • Work in conjunction with Financial Aid to process and notify students of Federal State and Military award repayments due.
  • Enter student account adjustments from Financial Aid and repayment charges in ctcLink to reflect Financial Aid repayments when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An Associate of Arts Degree in Accounting or closely related fieldAND one (1) year of full-time accounting experience OR three (3) years of full-time accounting experience.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office and Google Suites or related software programs.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail time management skills and organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with frequent interruptions.
  • Excellent oral written and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting business or related field.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Familiarity with accounting regulations and procedures for community and technical colleges.
