Responsible for improving the manufacturing processes. Directly involved in troubleshooting and resolving production operation problems analyzing equipment failures developing & maintaining standard operating procedures specification and work instructions. Assists in designing constructing installing and commissioning new equipment.
Responsible for product configurations create BOM PCC MSC and applicable product configuration related tasks.
Work with EHS in performing various tasks associated with maintaining compliance and support the implementation and evaluation of programs designed to minimize risks to employees such as JSA FMEA and appliable risk tools.
Lead major and minor projects related to continual improvement and other initiatives which require cross functional team while adhering to the established company policies and Management of Change (MOC) process.
Assess and analyze production operations to identify and develop new and improved chemical manufacturing processes including the production of epoxy adhesive systems adhesives films and composite materials.
Design configure and work with those engaged in constructing controlling and improving our chemical processing and manufacturing equipment.
Analyze operating procedures equipment and machine functions to reduce processing time and cost. Employ effective problem-solving techniques statistical process control cause and effect analysis and DOE methods as needed.
Define problem collect data establish fact and draw valid conclusions.
Work to optimize process requirements cost man-machine-process interface and EH&S factors using sound analysis and judgment.
Perform tests and take measurements throughout stages of production to determine degree of control over variables such as temperature density specific gravity and pressure.
Analyze develop and recommend process changes necessary to meet production requirements. Develop detailed engineering plans to meet company objectives for the introduction of new products.
Introduce designs drawings and specifications to Engineering and Manufacturing management.
Setup troubleshoot and maintain Engineering Manufacturing Maintenance and EH&S related database form and report with relevant departments.
Review routers BOM work orders and other documentation to validate functionality and identify streamlining opportunities.
Participate and give input on the purchasing of new equipment to ensure equipment meets all safety quality and production standards.
Obtain competitive Quotes for upgrades requiring in MCCFC at Irvine location. Do not have the authorization to commit company to any expenditure. All requests for expenditure must be approved in writing by a member of the management team.
Supervise construction and installation of new equipment Prepare SOP and make sure permit condition requirement of local state Federal Fire Department Air Quality Management District (AQMD) etc. are maintained. Perform validation process to ensure results are achieved to the baseline.
Perform job duties and obtain training in accordance to our Quality Management System (AS9100).
Audit operations for AS9100 compliance as scheduled and assume responsibility for safety/environmental issues and ongoing performance of processes.
Visit customers for specific and strategic product development project applications. Supports optimization of meeting customer product performance and quality requirements.
Exhibit exemplary conduct at all times in dealing with other MCCFC CMD employees and MCCFC satellite sites including any outside contacts. Contribute to the establishment and attainment of a positive safe and team-oriented environment.
May be assigned to support MCCFC satellite sites and be expected to perform to acceptable standards any relevant related duties as required by top-management.
Follow safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe working environment; utilizing continuous JSA (Job Safety Analysis) prepare work instructions perform safety training and other risk-management strategies to minimize risk from injury repetitive motion or poor ergonomics.
May be assigned and be expected to perform to acceptable standards any other relevant related duties as required by management.
KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
A four-year college degree in Chemistry Mechanical Industrial or Chemical Engineering is required.
Recommended 2 years or more related experience and/or training in the composites industry or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Proficiency in Microsoft office and Auto-Cad or similar design applications is required. Experience in manufacturing engineering technology PLC chemical process or converting industry process is a plus along with problem solving Minitab/Jump DOE methods and ISO/AS9100 standards.
The salary range for this position is $83160-$103650. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position candidates work experience education/training job-related skills internal peer equity as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state) if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
