About this position:

LMCU is looking for a Home Equity Underwriting Team Lead to support and guide our Home Equity Underwriting this role you will help train mentor and assist underwriters as they build and maintain their portfolio lending authority. You will also carry a smaller pipeline of loans help answer complex scenario questions and step in when teammates are out of the office to keep things running smoothly.

What youll do:

Train new and contracted underwriters by reviewing systems guidelines and sample files and provide refresher or new product training for experienced team members
Review and respond to questions in the Home Equity Scenario mailbox making sure guidance is timely accurate and aligned with current policies
Help resolve individual file conflicts by reviewing details identifying issues and working with the right people to determine the best approach
Provide backup coverage for managers coordinators and fellow underwriters during absences or high volume periods while carrying a small pipeline
Assist with updating and creating processes and procedures and help complete special projects as assigned

What youll bring:

• Three or more years of lending or underwriting experience with comfort reviewing income credit and loan guidelines

• Experience supporting teammates through questions training or informal leadership

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain guidelines in a clear and supportive way

• Good problem solving skills attention to detail and confidence in making decisions

• Ability to stay organized while balancing your own work and helping others

• A positive team centered mindset and willingness to adapt as policies or priorities shift

• High school diploma or equivalent
