WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Architecture & Design
- Apply a strong understanding of DDD microservices bounded contexts and API-first design in day-to-day work
- Design solutions using established design patterns (Factory Repository Circuit Breaker etc.)
- Work with API Gateways and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) patterns
- Design resilient fault-tolerant and observable systems
- Consider accessibility and sustainability as part of architectural decisions
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Design and evolve cloud architectures on AWS or Azure
- Work hands-on with Kubernetes container orchestration and Docker
- Design and operate Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation pipelines (Terraform CI/CD)
- Address cloud networking IAM monitoring and logging requirements
Backend Engineering
- Design and implement backend solutions using Java Kotlin or Go
- Work with REST APIs OpenAPI specifications event-driven systems and caching strategies
- Guide teams on performance optimization profiling and secure coding practices
Quality & Security
- Apply strong Git practices a TDD mindset and automated testing approaches
- Use static analysis vulnerability scanning and secure coding techniques
- Integrate and support OAuth2 JWT OpenID Connect and SSO
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work effectively in Agile environments (Scrum Kanban)
- Communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders
- Demonstrate a team-first mindset with ownership accountability and critical thinking
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Use JIRA Confluence and follow documentation best practices
WHAT YOU BRING ALONG
- Experience creating and collaborating on analyses concepts patterns architectures models and algorithms
- Skills in designing developing and maintaining backend applications
- Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows
- Ability to troubleshoot debug and resolve system and application issues
- Experience developing and maintaining system documentation architecture diagrams and test specifications
- Knowledge of manual and automated testing (unit integration end-to-end)
- Willingness to contribute to internal standards trends and best practices in cloud and software engineering
- Focus on maintainability (clean code naming conventions inline documentation structured design)
- Focus on reliability (security performance stability scalability efficiency)
- Commitment to knowledge sharing within the team and across teams
