Graphic Design Meteorologist

The Graphic Design Meteorologist will work with the graphic development teams at AccuWeather includingonwebsite/apps the AccuWeather network AccuWeather for Business Marketing and Subscription teams to ensure that AccuWeather has the best graphics available in the market and that they are constantly reviewed and improved.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Systematically review all graphics at AccuWeather and work with graphic teams to develop improvements and updated standards.
• Review proposed changes with the AccuWeather leadership for buy-in then work with the teams to implement
• Graphics included are maps used on our myriads of products and outlets as well as how data is displayed on them. Putting together a small team of meteorologists and designers at AccuWeather will allow this position to move forward with more velocity and understanding of the reasoning why some maps or displays have been the way they areallowing the best decisions to be made and for prioritization of workload.
• Bring increased use of AI to develop maps graphs charts and the like for communication and displays on our properties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in Data Science Meteorology.
• 2 years of experience in working with design of weather maps and displays
• Understanding of weather data its formats and forecast models is highly desirable
• Understanding what can be done in Barons will be beneficial.
• Experience using AI for graphic creation a plus
• Strong analytical thinking and communication skillsable to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced mission-driven environment as well as with a team to achieve the best results. Ability to multi-task while staying detail oriented.
