DescriptionWe are searching for a Speech Language Pathologist -- someone who works well in a fast-paced this position you will appropriately diagnose and treat patients primarily between the ages of 0 21 years in our Plastic Surgery Clinic.

Responsibilities:
- Performs patient evaluations/consultations and interprets results
- Provides results verbally to patient and/or family/caregiver and/or to referral source
- Develops treatment plan in conjunction with patient and/or family/caregiver
- Implements treatment plan and monitors progress on an ongoing basis
- Maintains records as required by law IDS policy and administrative regulations
- Documents evaluation procedures results diagnoses and recommendations
- Attends and participates in continuing education programs as required to maintain licensure and promote professional growth
- Promotes speech-language pathology services within the community and the IDS
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology field of study required
- CCC-SLP certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association require
- TX-SLP license from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation required
- 2-year professional experience as SLP in pediatric setting (may include clinical fellowship but excludes training completed prior to completion of Masters degree)
Preferred Experience:
- Cleft & Craniofacial Care: Helping babies with feeding/swallowing and evaluating speech development in children with cleft lip/palate often before and after speech surgeries
- Head & Neck Cancer: Working with patients before during and after cancer treatment (surgery radiation) to manage voice loss (dysphonia) and swallowing problems (dysphagia) to improve quality of life.
- Trauma & Reconstruction: Addressing speech and swallowing issues after facial trauma burns or complex reconstruction including managing microstomia (small mouth).
- Patients range in age from infancy to adolescent
- Involvement in multidisciplinary teams including Aerodigestive Clinic and Swallow Disorders Clinic
- Evidence-based evaluation and treatment methods
