Substitute Nurse
JOB DESCRIPTION LINK
As a Substitute Nurse with Special School District (SSD) you will support students by providing essential nursing care that allows them to attend school safely and as independently as possible. Under the supervision of Health Services leadership or a supervising nurse you will carry out physician-ordered treatments assist with medical equipment administer medication and contribute to the implementation of individualized health care plans. You may also assist with educational support tasks as long as medical needs remain the priority.
Substitute nurses work school days based on assigned building schedules and may serve one or multiple schools across St. Louis County. Some assignments may include riding the bus to and from school with students and assisting during transport. Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program required
- Experience with pediatrics children with special health needs and/or pediatric psychiatry preferred
Certificates Licenses Registrations
- Practical Nursing License in the state of Missouri or Licensed Registered Nurse required
- CPR - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified required
