The Director of Innovative Practices for STEM at the Beverly High School - a highly collaborative position for someone who can provide leadership to the high school staff in support of the buildings strategic School Improvement Plan by promoting innovative approaches to teaching and learning. The successful candidate in this role will work with the building principal and the Assistant Superintendent of Schools to develop curricula and support pedagogy that incorporate concepts of design thinking and creative problem solving inclusive practices and rigorous curriculum design to promote deeper learning and foster student engagement. This position will report to the building principal as a member of the buildings Instructional Leadership Team. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities and the ability to build trusting relationships across all grade levels and content areas. The Director of Innovative Practices will support both the staff and administration with high quality professional development (e.g. coaching strategic thought partnerships) as well as supporting implementation of innovative practices and new approaches to teaching and learning. The position will include development of curriculum evaluation of staff and programs and analysis of data measure efficacy. The position requires the candidate to have a strong knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks curriculum design and assessment of learning outcomes familiarity with the design thinking framework and a deep understanding of Universal Design for Learning and Inclusive Practices.
