Job Summary

The Sourcing Specialist main responsibility is to work side by side with the Global Sourcing Manager- Home to focus & align product placement with the Sourcing factory base to meet the QVC customer demands by offering the highest quality product at the best value possible.
Assists the Global Sourcing Manager in delivering clear and concise product development briefs and directions to QVC offices and suppliers directly as well as to Sourcing Specialist Home and QA Direct Sourced Home support team for all product development needs and requirements.
Leverage market trends buyer input sales performance and customer metrics to continuously elevate home products developed to enhance margin and customer experience. Translate global trends into category specific impacts.
Participate in overseas buying trips and manage follow ups. Selectively attend trade shows and comp shop with PD Managers.
Negotiation of pricing delivery and approval of product samples are primary functions. Manage sample development process.
Through daily e-mail communication with our offices agents and direct suppliers build strong relationships with our sourcing partners to ensure proper implementation of QVC procedures adherence to QVC T&As and proactive identification of issues that could impact the business.
Partner with Global Sourcing Manager and Shanghai based team to ensure seamless development processes are in place and maintained.
Partner with QA Supply Chain and legal to ensure processes are in place to ensure uninterrupted flow of merchandise and to ensure all legal and compliance requirements are met for Home product.
Perform duties according to company policies and procedures with latitude for independent judgment and initiative.

Key Accountabilities

Review all costing data for accuracy. Challenge and negotiate costings to meet Merchants target prices while maintaining quality standard

Work closely with Global Sourcing Manager-Home throughout ongoing product development process to identify and execute the product needs within the quality requirements of the business.

Creation of areas T&As specific to each business and ownership of collaboration across roles as to strategic and tactical dates to ensure timely production and quality product.
Through constant communication and working within the processes that we have in place ensure that suppliers adhere to a T&A calendar.

Engage and build relationships with suppliers to increase engagement with QVC as a brand and customer. Participate in Vendor education as identified by the business. Train each new agent and/or office in QVC systems and procedures.

Define and address problems issues and concerns that impact the operations. Collaboratively update appropriate team members.
Increase ongoing collaboration with support teams within QVC including Product Development QA Supply Chain Vendor Relations and Legal. Participate in meetings and committees formed to expand knowledge of Direct Import business and reach within the home businesses.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree

Minimum of five years business experience in Product Development & Sourcing.

Or minimum of 3 years of direct sourced experience in the home classifications.

Must be proficient is working on a PC and all Microsoft Suite applications.
