Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to support hospital-based laboratory operations in Port Charlotte Florida. This role is well-suited for a licensed professional with strong technical expertise who excels in a fast-paced quality-focused clinical environment.
The Medical Technologist plays a key role in delivering accurate diagnostic results ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting efficient laboratory operations during assigned shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing including routine and STAT procedures within established turnaround times
Analyze proficiency testing samples according to defined protocols and timelines
Complete and maintain required patient documentation and laboratory records
Perform and document quality control procedures in compliance with laboratory standards
Identify investigate and resolve critical or problematic specimens and test results
Apply independent judgment when correlating and interpreting patient results including delta checks
Review pending work and result logs resolving outstanding items or appropriately handing off tasks
Assume departmental responsibility in the absence of supervisory staff as needed
Required Qualifications
Associate Degree in Science (required)
Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or related field (preferred)
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist
Active Florida State Medical Technologist License (required)
Licensure and experience in one or more clinical laboratory areas with Generalist experience strongly preferred including:
Blood Bank
Chemistry
Hematology
Microbiology
Serology
