The Opportunity:

Overview

Multnomah County is seeking a dedicated and equity-minded professional for the position of the College to County Mentorship Program (C2C) Coordinator. This role is central to our mission of advancing workforce development and career pathway models that prioritize equity across the county. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about workforce equity and capable of managing complex countywide logistics.

As the C2C Program Coordinator you will manage the entirety of this countywide internship program. Your work will focus on planning administration and operations to ensure the program effectively supports students from marginalized communities and builds a talent pathway for the County.

This is an internal recruitment open to all current regular trial service and limited duration Human Resources employees of Multnomah County who are in paid status on approved leave or on an active recall list.

Responsibilities in this role include:

Program Management & Planning

  • Develop a strategic vision for the program and conduct departmental needs assessments.

  • Manage a centralized budget that is allocated across county departments.

  • Directly supervise the C2C Program Intern (an alumni of the program) including coaching task delegation and time approval.

  • Develop a comprehensive communications strategy to keep internal partners community partners and interns informed.

  • Ensure program compliance with Federal State and Local laws (e.g. BOLI Wage and Hour laws).

Orientation & Professional Development

  • Design and facilitate weekly summer professional development sessions focused on career growth and intercultural competencies.

  • Lead the welcoming orientation and onboarding of interns using equity-informed and culturally responsive strategies.

  • Coordinate large-scale training events including analyzing materials and identifying facilitators.

  • Continuously evaluate program effectiveness through surveys and meetings to implement improvements.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills:

  • A Bachelors degree or equivalent related work experience

  • Three (3) years of experience of professional-level experience in program management or human resources

Preferred Qualifications/Transferable Skills: You do not need to have the following preferred qualifications/transferable skills to qualify. However keep in mind we may consider some or all of the following when identifying the most qualified candidates. Please clearly explain on your application how you meet any of the following preferred qualifications/transferable skills.

  • Experience building relationships and managing programs and/or teams in a highly matrixed and political environment

  • Proven experience developing or administering programs focused on workforce development career pathways or internship models that specifically advance equity for marginalized communities.

  • Experience designing and facilitating professional development curriculum workshops or orientation programs for diverse audiences.

  • Experience implementing goals from a Workforce Equity Strategic Plan (WESP) or similar organizational equity framework.

Serving the Public During Disasters: All County employees have a role in serving the public during inclement weather natural disaster or other types of community emergency response.
