Position Overview
Wayne HealthCare is seeking a motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join a collaborative and well-supported Emergency Department team. This position offers a balanced mix of autonomy and physician support in a community hospital setting with comprehensive specialty backup.
Emergency Department Details
- Annual ED Volume: 19000 visits
- Facility: 19-bed Emergency Department
- Coverage Model:
- 24-hour physician coverage
- 10 hours of APP (MLP) coverage daily
- APP Shifts: 12 hour
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic
Community Health Partners (CHP) provides regional/community-based hospitals emergency department hospitalist and urgent care provider staffing throughout Ohio. Through a joint venture between OSUP Community Outreach and Community Emergency Medicine Partnersthe group is committed to improving local continuity of care and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
Scope of Practice
The APP will provide comprehensive emergency care including but not limited to:
- Evaluation and management of low- to moderate-acuity emergency patients
- Performing history and physical examinations
- Ordering interpreting and documenting diagnostic studies
- Developing and implementing treatment plans
- Performing common ED procedures within credentialed scope
- Patient and family education
Qualifications
Physician Assistant (PA):
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- PAC certification (NCCPA)
- Current Ohio Physician Assistant licensure (or eligibility)
Nurse Practitioner (NP):
- Masters degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- National Nurse Practitioner certification (AANP or ANCC)
- Current Ohio Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure (or eligibility)
