Description
The Stephens College Library has an opening for a part-time Evening & Weekend Library Supervisor to work approximately 10-15 hours per week during the academic school year (9 months). The library seeks candidates who can provide research assistance as well as work on various library tasks and projects. This part-time position requires working two evenings per week as well as every other Sunday (from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm).
Responsibilities include:
- Provide research assistance to Stephens students faculty and staff.
- Assist students and faculty with research databases web searching formatting styles and computer applications as necessary to meet information needs.
- General supervision of the library building during evening and weekend shifts.
- Supervise student workers during evening and weekend hours.
- Assist with other duties and projects such as collection management library programming copy cataloging MOBIUS book shipments and processing interlibrary loan and other possibilities as determined by candidate/staff interests and library needs.
Requirements
- Masters degree in Library Science or current graduate student in Library Science or library experience that includes research assistance and/or public service components.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a patron-focused philosophy.
