Position Summary
The Youth Opioid Forum Assistant is part of Statimc Outreach Health Services (SOHS) and supports community initiatives on opioid education prevention and harm reduction. Key duties include coordinating youth-focused meetings and events creating educational and harm reduction materials assisting with data collection and reporting and building collaboration among youth health providers and community partners. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills knowledge of harm reduction confidentiality and the ability to promote a culturally safe stigma-free environment.
The successful candidate:
Planning and Coordination: Help schedule and coordinate forum meetings prepare agendas taking meeting minutes manage communications with participants and ensure all logistics for events are handled smoothly.
Community Peer Support: Support efforts to engage youth with health providers and community partners in forums and activities related to opioid education and prevention.
Resource Development: Assist in creating and distributing educational materials and harm reduction supplies such as Naloxone kits.
Data and Reporting: Collect data from forums and outreach activities assist with progress reports and document impact metrics.
Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with public health officials community organizations and peer groups to foster collaboration and maintain communication pathways conduct an evaluation.
Support Services: Provide direct support to youth opioid forum participants and help maintain confidentiality and a welcoming stigma-free environment.
develops event safety plans with the support of the LTC Emergency Management Coordinator
has excellent organization and communication skills both written and verbal
must clear a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Salary: Will be worked out with a max of $3200 for this contract.
Start Date: February 2 2026 end date March 13 2026.
