The King County Department of Local Services (DLS) is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor and people leader to provide strong supervisory and operational leadership for the Road Services Divisions accounts payable function. This role leads a dedicated team responsible for ensuring accurate timely and compliant processing of all vendors and employee payments in accordance with public sector financial regulations internal controls and County policies. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of accounts payable operations a proven ability to resolve complex issues with internal and external partners strong people-management and customer service skills and a commitment to operational excellence and equity in public service.
This position is part of the Roads Budget & Finance Team and reports to the Road Services Finance and Administrative Services Manager within the DLS Director Office.The Accounts Payable Supervisor leads a diverse team responsible for all aspects of accounts payable operations fosters a positive and customer-focused team culture and ensures accurate timely and compliant services. The role develops policies strengthens internal controls ensures regulatory compliance and drives process improvements using performance data. It also serves as a key liaison with internal partners including Engineering Maintenance the Directors Office and central Finance and Payables units within the Finance and Business Operations Division (FBOD).The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong analytical communication and people-management skills commitment to equity and the ability to enhance financial operations in a complex public sector environment.

Work Schedule:The work week is normally Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but may at times require work outside of normal business hours. This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Emergency Designation Status:This position has been designated as:
Mission Critical-Employees who provide maintain and re-establish essential county functions as described in agency Continuity of Operations plans.
Unless otherwise directed by the County Executive department director or agency head all employees regardless of designation are expected to report to work or request leave during an emergency or inclement weather.

TELEWORKING REQUIREMENT:
We will work in the office at least three days a week to foster connection and responsiveness arrive prepared and on time and structure meetings with clear goals and next steps.
Work Location:
Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. The employee will report to work at King Street Center (201 S. Jackson Seattle WA 98104) and Renton Maintenance Facility (155 Monroe Ave NE Renton WA 98056).
Employees must reside in Washington Stateand within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
