Vehicle Acquisitions Specialist
Job Summary
The Vehicle Acquisitions Specialist is responsible for proactively identifying appraising and purchasing vehicles from customers in the service drive. This role focuses on sourcing high-quality inventory by engaging service customers presenting purchase offers and delivering a professional transparent buying experience. Prior automotive acquisition or appraisal experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage service drive customers to identify opportunities to purchase their vehicles
- Conduct accurate vehicle appraisals using market data condition reports and dealership tools
- Present competitive purchase offers clearly and professionally
- Negotiate vehicle purchases while maintaining strong customer satisfaction
- Coordinate with management to ensure inventory needs and pricing strategies are met
- Collect required documentation and ensure compliance with dealership and state regulations
- Maintain detailed records of appraisals offers and completed purchases
- Collaborate with service advisors sales managers and inventory teams to maximize acquisition opportunities
- Follow up with customers who receive offers but do not immediately sell
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience in vehicle acquisitions or used car appraisals required
- Strong understanding of vehicle values reconditioning costs and market trends
- Proven negotiation and customer communication skills
- Ability to accurately assess vehicle condition and history
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced dealership environment
- Proficiency with appraisal tools CRM systems and inventory software
- Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
- Urgency to obtain inventory is a must
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of dealership experience in acquisitions used car management or sales
- Familiarity with service drive operations
- Experience using vAuto.
