About This Role:

Workplace Arrangements

This role will follow a hybrid remote/onsite schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work on-site from our Distribution Centres in Brockville and Johnstown Ontario 2-3 days / week and will occasionally work out of our Ottawa Head Office on Walkley Road.

Purpose: Giant Tigers food products will meet all food safety procedures required to ensure safe storage and handling at our DCs.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Implement and maintain food safety procedures at the DCs as outlined in the HACCP program

  • Implement and maintain the Safe Food For Canadians Regulations license in compliance with regulations

  • Implement corrective / preventative actions for deviations from the HACCP program

  • Coordinate recall and complaint activities for products stored at the Brockville and Johnstown warehouses

  • Deliver effective standard operating procedures for use in training of DC personnel

What Youll Bring

  • Degree or Diploma in related field (Food & Safety Biology Health & Safety Chemistry)

  • 2 years experience working in retail manufacturing or distribution centre food safety or quality assurance

  • Strong understanding of HACCP programs

  • Strong understanding of SFCR CFIA protocols and Health Canada Regulations

  • Ability to develop and maintain SOPs

  • Excellent analytical judgement and problem solving

  • Experience liaising with CFIA

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
