OF ASSIGNMENT
Under the general supervision of the building administrator provide children a learning environment with varied experiences that encourage age and stage appropriate development while enhancing the parental role as the primary influence on child education and development.


FUNCTIONS
and develop a daily schedule of classroom routines and activities. Prepare and

implement lesson plans in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards

and the Head Start Work Plan.
positively with all children to support individual learning and meet emotional

needs. Provide a curriculum and multi-cultural environment that meets the needs of

each child including those with disabilities.
regularly and respectfully with families while involving them in the

educational program. Encourage and support families working toward established

goals.
a minimum of four (4) family visits per year; two (2) on site two (2) off

site.
monthly teacher/parent meetings during the day or evening as necessary.
and document written observations of individual children. Develop a learning

plan for each child within six (6) weeks of school entry.
standardized screening tools for each child within 45 calendar days of

school entry. Re-screen and refer as necessary.
and train Head Start/ECEAP Teacher Assistants. Recruit and train volunteers

for the classroom.
in interdisciplinary planning for children and families including staffing and

other cross-component coordination efforts.
complete and confidential records on each child.
knowledge and skills by attending in-service training.
with the planning preparation and serving of meals to children as well as

share the meal period with the children.
for the physical welfare of each child; may include diaper changing and

providing first aid.
regular classroom housekeeping duties. May include vacuuming washing

dishes sweeping mopping etc.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

and Experience
AA degree in Early Childhood Education AND two (2) years of successful

experience working in an early childhood classroom.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
of and competency in curriculum areas such as music art science pre-

reading story telling and language development.
of and competency in planning scheduling record keeping classroom

arrangement and management physical safety of children and health needs of

children.
to effectively work with and communicate with students parents volunteers

completion of fingerprint and background check.

QUALIFICATIONS
degree in Early childhood Education OR BA degree in a related field with Early

Childhood Education endorsement.

VI. WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a regular elementary school building. Ability to bend stretch twist walk reach requiring ordinary physical effort; lift 20 pounds and push/pull 40 pounds; listen more closely than normal daily life; use fingers hands and limbs with ordinary skill and speed are all required. Exposure to dust fumes bleach and disinfectants traffic infectious diseases/sickness bodily fluids occasional extreme noise levels and occasional high-risk interactions with emotionally disturbed or dangerous individuals.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check as required by RCW28A.400.303. The fingerprint scan must be completed prior to the first day of employment.

AllHeadStartandECEAPstaff to provide specific immunization documentation related to measles mumps rubella (MMR) by January 31 2022 (RCW 43.216.690).
