The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value planning developing and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails.This position is located at Lake Claiborne State Park in Homer LA.The purpose of this position is to perform groundskeeping and custodial duties to help maintain cleanliness and a safe environment for the customers. This includes all rental facilities and grounds including trails bathhouses etc. This position will also assist in the front office such as checking in guests handling forms of payment assisting customers and completing office paperwork.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Performs custodial duties necessary to maintain clean and sanitary conditions of park facilities.
Stocks cabins and lodges with cleaning supplies and household items.
Assist with linens prep for laundry service stocking supplies for next use etc.
Clean bathroom facilities cabins meeting rooms lodges nature center pool area etc.
- Assists with maintaining park grounds such as mowing grass blowing off walkways and porches collecting litter removing limbs and debris trail maintenance and emptying trash receptacles.
- Provides a high level of customer service and assists customers with inquiries over the phone or in person.
- Check-in guests for day use and overnight stays; collect payments and make reservations.

Appointment Type:Probational Promotional or Detail to Special Duty
Location:Lake Claiborne State Park in Homer LA
Work Schedule: State Parks are open 365 days a year. Position will work a rotating schedule of 40 hours/week which can include holidays and/or weekends as needed to ensure coverage at the park.
Travel:Position requires driving around the park as part of the daily shift. A state vehicle is available for employee use while on duty.
Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Park Technician A B or C.
