Position Title: CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Preference: Days (Rotating Weekends)
Location - Sanford FL

Position Summary

The CVOR RN provides high-quality perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac and other surgical procedures. This role requires collaboration with surgeons surgical technologists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure patient safety adherence to protocols and optimal clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate patients prior to surgery and provide preoperative education to patients and families
Prepare patients for surgery including intravenous therapy preoperative medications and surgical site verification
Participate in surgical site verification briefing time-out and debriefing according to policy
Monitor patients throughout the perioperative process recognizing and responding to emergencies
Deliver evidence-based patient-centered care while participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Apply the nursing process critical thinking technical skills and leadership to independently provide safe nursing care
Document patient care and changes in condition thoroughly
Educate patients and families about the patients condition treatment plan and follow-up measures

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent (within the last year) acute care CVOR RN experience
Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license (compact license holders have 60 days to obtain Florida license)
Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor within 6 months
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Instructor within 30 days
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course within 6 months
