AWC Staff Services are looking for a Senior Estimator to join our client for a FTC of 18 months. Our Client provide an end-to-end service delivering solutions in electricity transmission distribution renewable energy EV metering and home decarbonisation.
Youll be involved in highvoltage substation and overhead line schemes working closely with bid design commercial and project teams. Theres plenty of flexibility too with adaptable working hours and 23 days a week in the Annesley (Nottinghamshire) office.
Daytoday youll get involved in:
- Spotting scope gaps and risks early
- Supporting the bids manager with kickoff meetings and programme planning
- Working with procurement and commercial teams
- Challenging and understanding project solutions
- Reviewing supply chain quotes and benchmarking costs
- Pulling together tender prices in Excel (Candy may be used in future)
- Preparing client pricing documents and helping with presentations
- Building strong working relationships across the business
What youll bring
- Previous experience in 400kV substation and overhead line estimating (preferrable)
- Previous experience in infrastructure projects (essential)
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel (essential) and able to use other Microsoft Office applications
- Basic understanding of engineering/construction technology and terminology
- Ability to read and understand engineering specifications and drawings
- Basic understanding of contractual terminology
- Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
- An attention to detail pro-active organised and methodical approach to work
