Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Accounting & Payroll Specialist to join a growing accounting firm supporting high-expectation clients in the United States.
This is a hands-on senior role for someone who brings strong technical judgment attention to detail and clear communication not just task execution.
You will manage and supervise accounting and payroll operations act as the main point of contact for clients and help elevate standards across the team.
What youll be responsible for
Overseeing bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online
Ensuring accurate and timely monthly closings
Supervising US & Puerto Rico payroll (W-2 & 1099)
Reviewing work from junior bookkeepers
Maintaining strict deadlines and SLAs
Communicating clearly with senior clients
Using and improving SOPs and operational processes
Anticipating issues before they escalate
This role is for you if you:
Have strong experience with US GAAP
Are highly organized and detail-oriented
Are comfortable managing multiple clients simultaneously
Communicate clearly with non-technical clients
Take ownership and responsibility for outcomes
Enjoy improving systems and standards
Can lead without micromanaging
Required experience
4 years in accounting and payroll operations
Advanced QuickBooks Online
Experience with US payroll
Excel (advanced)
Client-facing accounting roles
Nice to have
Multi-entity accounting
Multi-state payroll
Experience with HubSpot or CRMs
Prior leadership or team coordination experience

CompensationMonthly salary: USD
Final compensation will depend on seniority technical expertise and prior experience in accounting and payroll operations.
Long-term growth opportunity as the role evolves into an Operational Lead of Accounting within 612 months.
