Xylem is looking for a Senior Diesel Mechanic to report to our Sanford FL service center and support the teardown evaluation repair and replacement of Godwin diesel pumps.
What your day will look like as a Senior Diesel Mechanic
The Senior Diesel Mechanic will support the Sanford Service Center where customers return defective pumps for inspection teardown repair or replacement. This role is primarily shop-based and focuses on diagnosing and repairing diesel engines used in our pump systems.
Equipment-specific training will be provided; however candidates with strong diesel backgrounds especially those with experience on Caterpillar and John Deere diesel engines are strongly encouraged to apply.
This position operates on a general day shift schedule MondayFriday with occasional weekend work as business needs require.
*Senior Diesel Mechanics are also required to provide their own specialty tools.*

Position Requirements for Senior Diesel Mechanics
Strong diesel mechanic background (required)
Eight (8) or more years of diesel engine experience preferred
Experience with Caterpillar and John Deere diesel engines strongly preferred
Familiarity with Godwin diesel pump engines (e.g.series) a plus
Ability to diagnose and repair complex diesel mechanical and electrical issues
Knowledge of methods materials tools and techniques used to repair and maintain diesel-powered equipment
Ability to safely operate hand tools power tools and lifting equipment
Ability to communicate effectively with customers co-workers and managers both verbally and in writing
Technically sound with strong troubleshooting skills
Ability to identify and remedy potential safety concerns
Ability to pass a background check drug screen MVR and DOT physical
A valid drivers license with a clean driving record
Schedule:
MondayFriday typically 7:00 AM4:00/5:00 PM
Occasional weekend work when required (not frequent)
Job postings will include a wide salary range with each roles pay falling within that range. Actual starting salary is based on factors such as skills experience location and market conditions.
