The HR Generalist

HR Operations & Compliance is responsible for owning and executing the core human resources infrastructure for a growing multi-site organization. This role ensures that HR operations are clearly defined consistently executed legally compliant and scalable at a national level.

This position serves as the operational backbone of the HR department providing structure accountability and visibility across onboarding employee relations compliance benefits coordination and HR systems. The role directly supports organizational growth by reducing risk improving clarity and ensuring HR work is completed accurately on time and by the appropriate owner.

Key Responsibilities

The HR Generalist is responsible for coordinating and executing core HR operations across the organization. This includes managing onboarding and offboarding processes maintaining accurate employee records supporting employee engagement initiatives coordinating required training and policy acknowledgments and ensuring consistent HR service delivery across all locations.

The role supports employee relations by assisting with intake documentation coordination and follow-up of employee concerns ensuring matters are handled consistently and escalated appropriately when needed.

This position supports compliance with federal state and organizational employment requirements including documentation and coordination related to ADA and FMLA processes audit readiness and adherence to internal HR policies and procedures.

The HR Generalist serves as an operational owner of HR systems and workflows ensuring employee lifecycle changes are tracked accurately HR data is reliable and HR processes are continuously improved for efficiency and consistency.

The role responds to HR-related inquiries and requests in a timely professional manner while maintaining appropriate documentation and follow-through.

The HR Generalist supports the execution and enforcement of the organizations established training programs by coordinating training assignments tracking completion maintaining accurate training records and ensuring compliance with required timelines. This role partners with leaders to ensure employees complete required training and policy acknowledgments while preserving the integrity of the organizations existing training structure and standards.

Key Performance Indicators

Successful performance in this role is measured by consistent accurate and timely execution of HR operations including:

  • Accurate and timely completion of onboarding and offboarding processes with all employee lifecycle documentation properly maintained in HR systems

  • Reliable maintenance of HR records with minimal data errors

  • Consistent adherence to compliance and documentation standards

  • Timely response and resolution of HR inquiries and employee relations matters

  • Timely completion and accurate tracking of all required training and policy acknowledgments

  • Contribution to continuous improvement of HR workflows and processes

Upon achieving these key performance indicators your supervisor will meet with you to review progress and collaborate on establishing new performance goals that reflect continued growth and excellence.

The Skills and Expertise You Have

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field required.

Experience

  • 5 years of progressive HR experience including generalist responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting HR operations in a multi-site or growing organization.

Certifications

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification required.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of employment law ADA FMLA and HR compliance standards.

Soft Skills

  • Strong organizational and execution skills with a focus on accountability.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with leaders and employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
