As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank youare an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives. Candidates must have a strong curiosity for data and proven track record of successfully implementing AWS solutions with proficiency in software engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of AWS solutions Java Python and data applications.
Job responsibilities
- Design build and maintain scalable and secure AWS infrastructure using best practices.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Architect and implement solutions leveraging AWS services such as EC2 ECS Lambda Load Balancers API Gateway S3 EBS SQS SNS and other storage and messaging services.
- Collaborate with development teams to deploy application code to AWS environments ensuring smooth CI/CD processes.
- Develop automation scripts and tools using Python to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Monitor troubleshoot and optimize AWS networking components ensuring high availability and performance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design application development testing and operational stability
- Expert-level proficiency in AWS services including: Compute: EC2 ECS Lambda Networking: Load Balancers API Gateway Storage: S3 EBS Messaging: SQS SNS
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
- Strong knowledge and development experience with Python.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and architecture on AWS.
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and Security
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
- Familiarity with Data Engineering and Big Data processing technologies (e.g. Spark AWS EMR/Glue Athena) and streaming services.
- Experience working in a Linux environment and proficiency with Shell scripting.
- Experience deploying application code to AWS and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL Databases Like RDS DynamoDB Neo4j.
