Chance Aluminum is a leading provider of high-quality aluminum products committed to safe manufacturing practices regulatory compliance and continuous improvement. We are seeking an experienced Safety & Quality Compliance Specialist to support and strengthen our workplace safety programs and ISO-based quality systems within a manufacturing environment.
Position Overview
The Safety & Quality Compliance Specialist is responsible for developing implementing and maintaining safety and quality compliance programs across manufacturing operations. This role requires hands-on experience with OSHA regulations ISO standards and manufacturing safety practices. The ideal candidate has strong shop-floor experience and the ability to work closely with production maintenance and management teams.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & OSHA Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and applicable workplace safety standards.
- Conduct routine safety inspections job hazard analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments throughout manufacturing areas.
- Develop implement and enforce safety policies procedures and safe work practices.
- Lead incident investigations root cause analyses and corrective/preventive actions.
- Coordinate and deliver safety training including LOTO machine guarding PPE forklift and general manufacturing safety.
ISO & Quality Compliance
- Maintain and improve ISO-based management systems including ISO 9001.
- Prepare for and support internal and external ISO audits.
- Ensure corrective actions are identified documented within 24 hours.
- Maintain controlled documents procedures and work instructions in compliance with ISO requirements.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to integrate safety and quality into daily operations.
Regulatory & Internal Compliance
- Monitor changes in safety and quality regulations and ensure company policies remain compliant.
- Conduct internal compliance audits and inspections.
- Serve as a point of contact during regulatory inspections and third-party audits.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of safety training inspections incidents and audits.
- Prepare compliance reports and performance summaries for management.
- Ensure all documentation is current accurate and audit ready.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to reduce risk and improve safety performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety and quality systems.
- Promote a strong safety and quality culture throughout the organization.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelors degree in safety engineering Industrial Engineering Occupational Health & Safety Quality Management or a related field preferred.
- OSHA and ISO-related certifications are preferred (e.g. OSHA 30 ISO 9001 Internal Auditor).
Experience
- 35 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated experience with OSHA compliance safety program implementation and ISO systems.
- Experience conducting safety audits incident investigations and employee training.
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment production processes and industrial hazards.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and ISO standards.
- Ability to work effectively on the production floor and with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational analytical and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance management tools.
- Detail-oriented proactive and able to work independently.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to conduct on-site inspections and walk production areas.
- Ability to climb stairs or ladders as required and assess equipment and work practices.
- Occasional lifting and movement of materials or equipment.
