Description of Work
This position will be responsible for developing implementing and maintaining registered and non-registered apprenticeship programs within institutions including but not limited to Prison Dog Training Programs Mansion Workers and similar programs. The position will also manage and coordinate training for facility staff who provide apprenticeship instruction and supervision directly to the offender population.
Develop implement and maintain registered and non-registered apprenticeship programs within institutions (e.g. Prison Dog Training Programs Mansion Workers and similar initiatives).
Serve as a liaison between R&R and DOI coordinating apprenticeship activities communication and operational alignment.
Ensure apprenticeship programs comply with applicable state and federal apprenticeship standards policies and reporting requirements.
Coordinate and manage training for facility staff who provide on-the-job and related instruction directly to the offender population.
Collaborate with institutional leadership employers program sponsors and training providers to support program delivery and expansion.
Monitor apprentice participation progress outcomes and program effectiveness.
Maintain required documentation data tracking and reporting related to apprenticeship activities.
Provide technical assistance and guidance to facilities regarding apprenticeship program requirements and best practices.
Support continuous improvement of apprenticeship programming aligned with workforce and reentry goals.
Perform other tasks assigned
Reports directly to the Facilities Program Manager within the Division of Institution Administration Programs and Standards and works collaboratively with Rehabilitation & Re-entry and Division of Institutions staff.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Grade Range: $50633.00 - $88607.00
Salary Pay Grade: NC14

- Strong organizational communication and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience and skills to interpret and apply policies standards and compliance requirements.
The Apprenticeship Administrator position is a critical role responsible for ensuring compliance with apprenticeship standards coordination with facility operations and accurate tracking of training and certifications. Due to the importance of this role management preference may be given to individuals for:
- Knowledge of apprenticeship programs workforce development or vocational training strong administrative recordkeeping and reporting skills.
