Job Summary
Speech/Language Pathologist-Crescent Speech Therapy-Per Diem-Day-Mount Sinai Queens
The per diem Speech Language Pathologist evaluates and treats patients referred for speech language cognitive and dysphagia dysfunction.
Responsibilities
speech/language and or cognitive evaluations tests or examinations to patients to collect information on type and degree of impairment.
speech/language test results and medical or background information to determine speech impairment and treatment.
and instructs patients concerning communication disorders and how to cope with the stress and misunderstanding that may accompany them.
patients families and caregivers with ongoing counseling and education to facilitate communication.
patients in developing and recovering reliable communication and swallowing skills to allow them to fulfill their educational vocational and social roles.
speech pathology in-service training programs for rehabilitation staff.
and maintains reports of speech or swallowing treatments.
and implements group therapy programs to address the needs of impaired patients and their families.
in conferences or training to update or share knowledge of new speech pathology or speech/cognitive/language/dysphagia treatment methods or technology.
other related duties
Qualifications
- Education: Masters degree or equivalent education in speech-language pathology
- Experience: 1 year of speech-language pathology experience
- License/Certification: New York State Speech-Language Pathologist License; New York State Education Department Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech and Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) (1 Year) Agency: American Speech Language Hearing Association
Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62.21 - $62.21 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including experience education and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
