Job Summary

We are seeking an EHS Specialist with a strong electrical background to support day-to-day safety activities on a large fast-paced client site in Cork. This is a hands-on role where the candidate will work closely with operations engineering and contractor teams to ensure electrical and general safety standards are met risks are managed and compliance requirements are understood and followed.


This will be a 12 month position with potential for extension.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of EHS policies and procedures on-site.

  • Assist as the EHS contact for electrical works and related activities.

  • Help conduct basic risk assessments job safety analyses and method statement reviews particularly for electrical tasks.

  • Carry out site inspections safety walks and hazard reporting.

  • Support permit-to-work systems including LOTO and electrical permits.

  • Contribute to investigations of minor incidents or near misses under supervision.

  • Support toolbox talks and safety briefings.

  • Maintain basic EHS documentation and reporting as required.




Requirements

  • 23 years experience in an EHS / Safety Specialist role

  • Electrical background (e.g. trade-qualified electrician electrical engineering technician or equivalent practical experience)

  • Some exposure to industrial manufacturing construction or data center environments is advantageous.

  • Awareness of electrical safety principles including isolation LOTO and voltage risks.

  • EHS certification


Qualifications

  • Electrical Trade Qualification / electrical background

  • EHS certification (NEBOSH IOSH QQI Level 8 or equivalent) is preferred or in progress

  • Manual Handling Working at Heights LOTO training (or willingness to obtain).

  • Safe Pass certification (or willingness to obtain).

Required Skills:

Proven leadership experience in a production or high-tech manufacturing environment. Strong organisational skills with experience managing teams across multiple shifts. Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and operational excellence. Experience in 3D printing or other precision manufacturing is an advantage but not essential. Knowledge of 6S or similar workplace organisation practices with a track record of implementation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and motivate teams.
