TPF Recruitment are currently representing a well-established and highly regarded firm of Chartered Accountants based in Waterlooville who are currently looking for an Accounts Senior to join their growing team.
The firm works closely with a broad portfolio of OMBs SMEs and growing organisations providing high-quality accounting and advisory services. With a strong focus on staff development and client service the practice is committed to delivering practical value-driven solutions that help clients make informed commercial decisions.
This role offers the chance to join a growing accounts team working with a varied client base and gaining exposure to technically interesting work. You will work collaboratively alongside audit and tax teams as well as liaising with external advisers to ensure assignments are completed accurately efficiently and in line with client expectations.
The position will involve managing accounts assignments with more complex technical elements as well as contributing to ad hoc projects. You will also support the wider team by assisting with technical queries and mentoring junior staff playing an important role in the ongoing development of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key point of contact for clients liaising regularly to obtain information and respond to queries in a timely manner.
- Prepare statutory financial statements for medium-sized companies LLPs and group structures using the firms accounting software with minimal review points.
- Prepare business tax computations including adjustments for enhanced expenditure and loans to participators.
- Support and review the work of junior team members contributing to accounts and consolidated financial statements.
- Work closely with the audit team to meet agreed deadlines maintaining clear communication to ensure all internal and external deliverables are achieved.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar Accounts Senior role within an accountancy practice.
- ACA or ACCA qualified. Qualified by experience will also be considered for exceptional candidates.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficient in MS Office including Word Excel and Outlook.
- Good technical knowledge of UK accounting standards and Financial Reporting Standards.
- Up-to-date understanding of basic UK tax legislation and business tax compliance.
- Keen to develop technically and support less experienced team members.
- Proactive detail-focused and well organised with a positive attitude.
- Committed to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
