Duties and responsibilities:
Liaise with the Teaching and Learning Managers to ensure timeous submission of appeal.
Liaise with students applying for the review on appeal if necessary.
Responsible for the submission of appeal documentation to Meeting Administration.
Monitor and manage the email address/platform by which students may log requests for the review of academic appeals.
Attend meetings of the University Readmissions Review Tribunal (URRT) and record the decisions of the committee.
Inform the Office of the Registrar of the resolutions made by the URRT concerning the appeal cases.
Draft letters in which the students are informed of resolutions.
Compile and submit the annual report on appeals and review of appeals.
Liaise with the Faculties to gather the data needed for the annual report.
Assist the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Academic with designing implementing and monitoring strategic projects managed from the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Academic.
Assist the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Academic with compiling reports related to strategic projects.
Liaise with internal structures on behalf of the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Academic to gather data and information on request of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Academic.
Offer administrative assistance to the Deputy Vice Chancellors Office Manager when necessary or when the Office Manager is on leave including meeting preparation making logistical arrangements planning office-related events receiving guests making and answering phone calls responding to emails and running errands both on and off campus.
Consider and investigate queries sent to the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor by students staff and external stakeholders and provide feedback to relevant parties.
Inherent Job Requirements:
A relevant bachelors degree on NQF Level 7 in social sciences (BSocSC) commerce (BCom) administration (BAdmin) or a related field.
A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in a university administrative position.
Recommendations:
Honours degree on NQF Level 8 in social sciences (BSocSC Hons) commerce (BCom Hons) administration (BAdmin Hons) or related fields.
Knowledge of university administrative systems (e.g. PeopleSoft).

Salary:
The annual remuneration package including benefits is R388 426.59 R487 479.38 per annum depending on the budget available for the position relevant work experience and qualifications.
