Description of Work
Want to work at the Worlds Largest Zoo that saves wildlife life in wild places The North Carolina Zoo is looking to hire an Emergency Operations Manager to join our Zoo team. This key managerial position sets direction policy and provides leadership to the Emergency Operation branch (utilizing staff on first second and third shifts) and oversees all aspects of the security program of the North Carolina Zoo. This position oversees 24/7/365 physical security protocols and operations leads crisis and incident management and ensures prompt First Aid to the public and staff. This position is responsible for management of the Emergency Operations branch: supervises three Ranger supervisors develops and writes Standard Operating Policies schedules training programs addresses employee conflicts develops a customer service culture manages parkwide radio communications security camera and life safety systems. This position also works collaboratively with a wide variety of staff across the Zoo. The successful candidate is required to be a member of the Randolph County Quality Assurance Committee which oversees all emergency medical services provided in the county; and is required to serve as a Manager on Duty at the Zoo on a rotating basis.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Bachelors degree from an appropriately accredited institution
AND
Three (3) years of experience related to the area of assignment;

Veterans and National Guard Preference
Applicants seeking Veterans Preference must attach a DD Form 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty along with the state application.
Applicants seeking National Guard Preference must attach an NGB 23A (RPAS) along with the state application if they are a current member of the NC National Guard in good standing.
Applicants who are former member of either the NC Army National Guard or the NC Air National Guard with honorable discharge and six years of creditable service must attach a copy of the DD 256 or NGB 22 along with the state application.
