Manager primary purpose is to ensureobjectivesrelated to credit underwriting and internal portfolio management are met in addition to supporting the workflow of the Commercial Team of RMs and commercial lending associates. This position will provide approval within established guidelines for daily credit/portfolio administrative activity.

JOB PURPOSE

The Portfolio Manager buildscredible relationships based on what is good for the Bank and what is good for the client with a genuine belief that personal success will be a result of client success.Act as a CIBCs senior relationship manager for commercial bankings larger clients and prospective clients requiring in-depth relationship coverage and customized financial solutions. The primary focus is on the origination of new clients and new opportunities with existing clients. As primary relationship manager the Senior Director holds ultimate client and credit risk accountability and maximizes profitability of major account relationships ensuring RAR and RAROC objectives are met.

What Youll Be Doing :

  • Manage a portfolio of Asset Based clients

  • Become a trusted advisor with our clients to deliver the entire bank to them

  • Hold client discussions to negotiate credit terms and structures

  • Meet all compliance and regulatory requirements

  • Negotiate legal documents with outside attorney

  • Speaking up ifwitnessingbehaviors that drive poor or unfair outcomes for clients teammembersor other stakeholders

  • Escalating matters that can result in adverse market practices and outcomes thereby negativelyimpactingCIBCs reputation as a leading financial institution

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • College Degree with Accounting/ Finance

  • 10 years of ABL credit experience

  • Working knowledge of ABLE or STUCKY operating system

  • Self-Starter takes initiative

  • Basic Microsoft Office and web-enabled prospecting skills

  • Excellent verbal interpersonal and written communication skills

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This roleoperateswithin a normal office environment

  • Travel required:10%-20%

At CIBC we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of$150000.00- $200000.00for the market based on experience qualifications and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible toparticipatein the relevant business units incentive compensation plan which may also include a discretionary bonuscomponent.
