Supervisor Sterile Processing
Full-time -Overnight 11:00 PM- 7:30 am Monday-Friday No holidays rotating weekend call
Location: Newark Delaware

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a skilled sterile processing professional who is passionate about quality compliance and team development. The Supervisor plays a critical role in supporting surgical services by ensuring the availability integrity and safety of sterile instruments and supplies used across the organization.

Responsibilities:
Collaboration and Communication
Provides direct supervision of Sterile Processing Technicians by guiding daily work activities performing evaluations and ensuring adherence to departmental standards and organizational policies.
Serve as the primary liaison between the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) and Operating Room management for all instrument-related activities.
Lead instrumentation projects in partnership with assistant nurse managers including set revisions par-level adjustments and development of new trays.
Communicate directly with instrument vendors to obtain quotes resolve issues and coordinate purchasing.
Provide timely updates to SPD leadership regarding inventory changes including new acquisitions repairs and modifications that impact surgical scheduling in Epic/CensiTrac.
System Oversight and Reporting
Update and maintain instrument tray count sheets in the tracking system.
Develop and implement change-control work instructions in collaboration with the sterile processing team.
Ensure accuracy data integrity and timely updates in the tracking system for all instrument-related changes.
Instrument Repair and Maintenance Coordination
Manage the complete instrument repair process including tracking outgoing and incoming items documenting repairs and conducting quality assurance checks.
Route repaired or newly purchased instruments efficiently to their assigned trays or storage locations.
Oversee the incomplete rack process by organizing labeling and reconciling instruments with incomplete sets monitoring for return or reorder.
Partner with vendors to ensure timely repairs quality service and alignment with operational and clinical standards.
Facilitate communication between SPD and Perioperative leadership to optimize repair turnaround times and manage costs.
Support the SPD Manager with the development implementation and maintenance of work instructions related to instrument maintenance and repair.
Leadership and Administration
May provide input to departmental managers and leaders on budget development policy proposals and strategies to improve operational efficiency.
Has authority to direct and support caregivers daily work activities to ensure quality and productivity.
Typically conducts performance reviews and provides input on direct reports within the aligned job function or process across the facility.
General Expectations
Work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrate strong organizational analytical and documentation skills to ensure efficient operations
Education and experience requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred or Surgical Technologist or bachelors degree.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive sterile processing or surgical services experience including related supervisory or team lead responsibilities; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Sterile Processing Technician Certification (CRCST) required. Surgical Technologists must obtain certification within six months of hire.
Completion of Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) credential preferred.
Hourly Pay Range: $25.52 - $38.28
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCares good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills relevant experience and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
