Creditors Clerk (Remote)
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and results-driven Creditors Clerk to manage outstanding patient balances on behalf of our client. This role focuses on patient outreach balance communication and payment collection enabling in-house financial counselors to dedicate their time to higher-priority clinical and operational tasks such as surgery estimates and imaging requests.
This is an independent ownership-driven role suited to someone confident handling sensitive financial conversations with professionalism and empathy.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Account Collections: Proactively contact patients by phone to discuss and collect outstanding balances.
- Clear Communication: Explain account details balances and available payment options in a clear professional and empathetic manner.
- Payment Processing: Support patients through payment completion and ensure all transactions are accurately documented.
- System Management: Use the Athena system to track balances update patient records and manage payment statuses.
- Autonomous Execution: Manage daily priorities independently taking full ownership of assigned accounts and outcomes.
Candidate Requirements
- English Proficiency: Strong verbal and written English skills comfortable communicating with US-based patients.
- Phone-Based Collections Experience: Confident professional and effective on outbound calls related to payments or collections.
- Self-Starter: Highly organized self-managed and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Empathetic & Professional: Skilled at navigating sensitive financial discussions with discretion and care.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable working with financial or medical billing systems; experience with Athena is a strong plus.
