A candidate can be considered for a Credentialing Specialist II if they meet the following requirements:
The Credentialing Specialist II will work remotely and is responsible for managing multiple credentialing projects simultaneously including initial applications and reappointments. This role requires utilizing their expertise and knowledge from their experience and certification along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail as it involves maintaining and updating credentialing data using specialized software Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Google Workspace tools. The specialist will collaborate closely with Medical Staff Office team members to ensure all deadlines are met efficiently. Key responsibilities include processing initial credentialing applications managing recredentialing/reappointment processes coordinating and tracking expirable documents mentoring and training team members. This role plays a vital part in maintaining compliance and ensuring timely and accurate credentialing for all providers while supporting the education training and quality improvement processes in the department.
Education Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Associates or Bachelors Degree Health Care Administration or related field is preferred.
Experience Qualifications
2 years clerical experience is required.
3 years of experience in healthcare is required.
4 years of Hospital Credentialing/Medical Services field or Payor Credentialing experience is required.
Certifications Licenses and Registrations
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) is required.
