Compensation:
Local: $1069.50 per week
Travel: $1311.84 per week
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Therapy Aide to support a Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit within an acute inpatient setting. This role provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff helping maintain a safe structured and therapeutic environment for pediatric and adolescent patients.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct and indirect patient care in an acute psychiatric setting with minimal supervision
Monitor record and report patient vital signs accurately and timely
Assist with patient admissions documentation and physical examinations
Collect specimens and monitor patient intake and output
Safely transport patients within the facility as needed
Orient patients to unit rules routines and daily schedules
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene and personal care
Observe and communicate patient behaviors conditions and changes to nursing staff
Support therapeutic engagement and structured activities under nursing supervision
Intervene appropriately during crisis situations to ensure patient safety
Maintain a safe structured and therapeutic care environment
Apply age-appropriate interventions based on developmental and psychological needs
Perform required safety checks during assigned shifts
Document care activities accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
Participate in unit operations and support nursing leadership as needed
Required Qualifications
Current CPR certification
Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience
Prior psychiatric care experience required
Ability to perform patient care duties with minimal orientation and supervision
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) or more years of related experience
Prior inpatient psychiatric experience
Pediatric or adolescent behavioral health experience
