Live-In Caregiver Responsibilities

Provide continuous care while residing in the clients home including designated rest and off-duty time in accordance with care plans and state guidelines.

• Assist with personal care: bathing dressing grooming toileting

• Provide companionship and meaningful engagement

• Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed

• Perform light housekeeping and laundry

• Provide medication reminders (no medication administration)

• Assist with mobility and transfers

• Escort clients to appointments and errands as required

• Maintain a safe and supportive home environment

• Follow individualized care plans and document care provided

• Observe report and communicate changes in client condition

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of caregiving experience (professional or family caregiving accepted)

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Must be able to commit to live-in assignments

• Reliable transportation required for errands or appointments

• Valid drivers license required if transporting clients

• Must be willing and able to travel to:
  Huntley Algonquin Cary Elgin South Elgin and surrounding areas
  (Applicants unwilling to travel to these locations will not be considered)

• Must pass background screening

• Compassionate dependable and committed to quality care

Preferred (Not Required)

• CPR / First Aid Certification

• Experience with dementia or Alzheimers care

• CNA or HHA certification

• Experience with mobility assistance

Qualifications

• Experience providing in-home services to seniors or completion/enrollment in a CNA or nursing program

• Ability to work independently in a live-in setting

• Strong judgment communication and decision-making skills
